Halloween | 2019

When it came time to plan Cam's Halloween outfit, I picked out a really cute dinosaur outfit. He loves dinosaurs so I thought it would be the perfect outfit. I was WRONG! He hated that costume with a passion. If I even brought it near him, he would take off running and hyperventilating. We decided it may be best to put him in regular clothes for Halloween so we decided to do a train conductor and he was the cutest train conductor I've ever seen.

We did something new this year and went down to my parents beach house the weekend before Halloween. Their park does a big Halloween trick-or-treating from 4-6 and the entire park participates. I was amazed at how many houses decorated and joined in on the fun. We only made it down one full row and we had an entire bucket full of candy. Camden loved it but was not a fan of people in full costume. His favorite part of the night was playing in the dirt for a full hour. He is ALL BOY! We capped off the night with a cookout with friends and family at the beach.

Sunday we came back home and attended our Church trunk-or-treat. Cam loved the rubber ducks and cake walk the most. He didn't really participate in the trunk-or-treat because he was ill and it was HOT! Friends from out of town stopped by and we ended up chilling in the air condition/nursery so Cam could play with Amelia.

On Halloween night, we went over to the Hutchens house for pizza and trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. It was a fun night and we actually only visited a few houses before calling it an early night. It was the perfect Halloween and I'm sure thankful I got the pictures at the beach because I only took 1 picture on Halloween night and it was blurry.

Pumpkin Patch and Painting Fun

We took Camden to the pumpkin patch on a perfect fall Saturday in October. After last year's pumpkin patch fail, I knew Craw was going with us and I wanted to go when it was a little cooler. It turned out to be the perfect 78 degree day and we had a blast.

Cam LOVED the hayride since tractors are currently one of his favorite things. He was mesmerized by the big wheels and kept saying "track-tor" the entire ride. He loved the slide, trike, and bounce pad but did NOT like the corn pit. In fact, he screamed and cried even when I tried to get in there with him. His favorite part of the entire day was feeding the goats. He loved them and it was hard to get him to leave. I was shocked at how much he let them lick his hands.

At the end, he was able to go pick out a pumpkin and it was so funny to watch him try to figure out why there were so many orange balls everywhere. He kept pointing and saying ball. We had the best day and ended the night with some of our favorite friends at Kanki.

Later in the week, we decided to paint the pumpkins we picked from the patch. Cam LOVED painting and we had a blast doing it while Craw did his best to carve a jack-o-lantern. It was the perfect family fall fun night. These are days that I want to remember for the rest of my life.

NC Zoo Weekend

I've been dreaming of taking Camden to the zoo all year. I knew I wanted to wait until the weather cooled off some and we had the the absolute PERFECT day in September. It was sunny and mid 70s all day and my parents and sister joined us for the fun family outing. We took Friday off so it wasn't crowded at all.

Cam LOVES animals. This summer, he learned most animal names and the sounds they make. It has been so fun listening to him say nay, moo, meow, woof, roar, and my personal favorites...sticking his tongue out over and over for the lizard sound and pretending to have an elephant trunk that sprays water. It's the cutest thing and I knew he would enjoy going to the zoo.

I decided to set my expectations low for the day since I wasn't sure how he would do in the stroller. He surprisingly did great but he definitely loved being able to get out and walk. We bought him a backpack harness and that helped with letting him have freedom but keeping him close to us. He got tired after lunch and took about an hour nap in the stroller which was perfect.

His absolute favorite exhibit was the polar bear. He stood there for a long time mesmerized by the polar bear swimming and flipping in the water. Sadly the giraffe and zebra exhibit was closed so we did not get to see them but there is always next time. We let him ride the carousel and he wasn't a fan. It truly was the perfect day with family.

Saturday morning Craw took Cam to Louisburg to see his family and also see the horses. I love seeing Cam's reaction to the horses and I sure wish GG was here to know him. We ended the day with a date night to the NC State football game. It was the best weekend with my sweet little fam.
