Adult Weekend Getaway | Jenna's Wedding

We kicked off May with a couples getaway weekend to celebrate Jenna getting married.  The wedding was in Murphy, NC so we decided months ago to make a whole weekend out of it. We left Friday after work and drove to Cragmont for a quick one night stay. It was so much fun having some adult time to catch up on life and not have to worry about kids.

Saturday we woke up and headed to Murphy. We stopped at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and it was nice to have lunch right on the water. We arrived in Murphy later that afternoon and checked in to our Airbnb. We rented a cabin right on the water for the weekend and it was extremely nice (minus the dog hair).

Saturday night we went to a nice steakhouse for dinner. While we were waiting for our reservations, we stopped by the Irish pub and I felt like I was back in Ireland for a brief second. Dinner was great and we enjoyed the company. After dinner, we headed back to the cabin and Jenna and all of the church girls came by for a visit. It was so sweet hanging out with her the night before her wedding. She was a calm bride and its still so surreal that she is now a married woman. When I graduated college, I came back home and started teaching the middle/high school Sunday school class and Jenna was only in 7th grade. Time truly does fly.

Sunday morning was low key and we spent the morning hanging out and getting ready for the wedding.  The wedding was outside and it was a beautiful ceremony. Jenna was radiating happiness all day and a smile never left her face. It was truly special to see her and James kiss for the first time on their wedding day. We enjoyed the reception and had fun catching up with Heather and Daniel.

After the wedding, we changed in to comfy clothes and took a ride in the convertible. It was Cinco de Mayo so we enjoyed some yummy Mexican food and ended the night around a campfire. It was the best weekend and I enjoyed sneaking away with Craw for a couple days. We missed Camden but he had a blast with his grandparents.

Side Note: The day we left, Cam had his first big accident. I was going to put him in the car and as I was opening the car door, he ran right in to the side of the door and cut his head. It was traumatic for me because it swelled up immediately and it was bleeding. It also happened as I was about to say bye to him for a whole weekend.  Thankfully, the swelling went down quick and the next day, it was just a small scrape. I'm sure that will be the first of many booboo's but it sure did make my mama heart sad.

Photo Dump | Life Lately

It's been a while since I have blogged an update on life with tons of pictures. I rarely have time to do individual weekend blogs because life is busy. So here is a random photo dump and things we have been up to lately.

I went to dinner with friends from college one night in July and it was so much fun catching up on life. It was also so fun seeing Camden interact wit Macsen and AB.

I am obsessed with this picture of these two best friends. Camden is getting to the point where he LOVES to be near Hank.

It is so much fun to see my baby boy with my best friends baby girl. Now Eva is a big sister and we will hopefully be getting a picture of the 3 of them soon.

Uncle Casey's hat will always be his favorite.

Diaper changes are no longer easy...

Probably my favorite picture ever taken of him. Funny story: I was at Bible Study one night and asked Craw to send me a pic of Camden before I went to bed. Little did I know that his daddy had gone to get ice-cream and was letting Camden hold his cup. I legit laughed out loud when I saw this picture and everyone at Bible Study thought it was funny.

Mom and I went shopping a few Saturdays ago and we took Camden with us. He was SUCH a trooper and even slept in the stroller while we were at the mall. Proud mama moment.

My two boys.

Camden is turning in to such a little ham. He loves to be funny and make funny faces. He also loved checking out Eva's PB chair.
(He is asking Santa for one for Christmas but he doesn't know it yet.)

This boy is constantly on the move. At one point he was sitting up straight with the boppy behind him and I turned my back for 30 seconds and this is what I found. He was laughing.

Camden wore this toboggan in the hospital and we thought it would be funny to put it on him. I guess we can say he has outgrown that one.

Camden loved celebrating Jase's 1st birthday. I can already tell him and Jase are going to be close friends growing up.

Somebody had to get their crib lowered because he now knows how to sit up from a laying position.

Date night for mama and dada.

Last but not least, I put this picture up on Facebook this past weekend and posted a page from one of his favorite books.

"I think she prayed like crazy that you would be safe, Little Fox. I think she prayed for me as much as I prayed for her." Mama's voice got all whispery.
"And God answered both of our prayers."
"I came then? To you?"
Mama nodded. Happy tears in her eyes.
"You came then. When God found us you, you made me the happiest mama in the world."

Christmas and December

Can you believe it's already 2018?  This post is a tad bit late but that's okay because I had 12 days off at the end of the year and I enjoyed every single second of my time away from work. Craw was also off so we were able to enjoy the holidays with each other and our families.
We kicked off December with our second annual Jammy Cocoa Christmas. We "borrowed" the idea from Shay and it truly is such a fun night. I host dinner at my house and we usually make our own pizzas. The kids will usually build a ginger bread house while dinner is cooking. After dinner, we pile up in separate cars (boys vs. girls) and we head to Dunkin Donuts where we enjoy coffee and donuts in our pajamas. Then we ride around looking at Christmas lights while listening to Christmas music. It is so much fun! We were missing Luke this year but I'm sure he will be ready to go next year plus one more little baby.
We took Anna Blake to Christmas at Peace and had a great night with her.
Craw and I enjoyed spending my birthday with each other and I even let him play a round of golf. #wifeoftheyear

Sweet Hank on Christmas Eve. We were watching the Panthers game and Craw would not put him down as he said he was the Panthers good luck charm. HA!

We got a sweet photo with Craw's family this year. I failed to take pictures at Christmas so I'm thankful for this one.

The day after Christmas, Craw and I left for Williamsburg, VA with my parents. We had planned to go in November but I had a Crohn's flare the weekend they went and was unable to go. We had a wonderful time but BOY WAS IT COLD! We literally froze. We went to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens one night and it got below 30 degrees. It's safe to say the lights were beautiful but we just couldn't hang in the cold.
We ended out the year with friends and I even got to snap a photo of this cutie. I love the portrait mode on my iphone and I love when I get photos like this one.

Hoping and praying that 2018 is our BEST YEAR YET!
