December Recap {Pre-Christmas}

December was a jam packed month and I am way behind on posts. I will break Christmas Eve and Christmas Day down in to individual posts but here is a recap of what we did leading up to Christmas.

 Ornament exchange at Olive Garden with our Connect ladies. One of my favorite nights of the year.

Jammy Cocoa Christmas 2019

We decided to have our Jammy Cocoa Christmas at Kelly's house since it is the bigger house and it was so much.

Casey, Danielle, and Avery came up to Wilson for some Christmas fun and we took the kids to the Whirligig park. They had fun running around but it sure was COLD. We ended up getting loaded fries, hotdogs, and funnel cakes and watches the tree lighting from Craws office. We then took the kids to ride the train and had a BLAST.

I got some good snuggles from my niece for my birthday

We celebrated my birthday with mine and Craw's family and it was fun. I still can't believe I'm 30 now. Craw and I ended the night at the Plus dueling piano bar in Raleigh and we got a hotel in downtown. It was a great birthday.

We finally rode the Train of Lights with mom and dad

Christmas Town 2019

The weekend after Thanksgiving, we went to Williamsburg with my family to attend our 3rd annual Christmas Town adventure at Busch Gardens. I LOVE that we have done this for three years now and it is a tradition I hope we never stop doing as I look forward to it every year. It is even more fun now that we have Camden and seeing his eyes light up this year was the absolute best.

We ended up heading to Williamsburg on Saturday this year which was nice because it allowed us to have a day of rest in between Thanksgiving and Williamsburg. When we arrived, we went ate lunch and went straight to Colonial Williamsburg to walk down the streets. My parents have season passes and they love to walk down every street. We let Cam get out of the stroller and run for a  while and he instantly found a group of strangers playing soccer and joined in on the fun. It was hilarious watching him run from person to person trying to get the ball. He loves to play soccer and we are hoping to sign him up for the rec league next year.

Cam started melting down around 3:30 and we could tell he needed a nap. We went and checked in at the hotel and had a wonderful 3 bedroom suite which meant Cam had his own room. It was nice not having to tip toe around him all weekend. After naps, we went and had the BEST PIZZA EVER at Sals by Victor (I think). It seriously was the best pizza we've ever eaten.

Sunday morning, it was raining. I jokingly made the comment that 2017 was freezing (think 20s and lower), 2018 was raining, and 2019 was raining. I have the worst luck when picking dates for Busch Gardens Christmas Town. We rested during the morning and then went and did a little shopping before heading to Busch Garden. Thankfully, it stopped raining around 2:30 so we headed on to Busch Gardens. The forecast still called for more rain but it never did rain again. Thank you, God!

We had the BEST time at Christmas Town. Cam rode his first "real" theme park ride with his Pappy and I and it was so much fun to see his face. He wasn't too sure of it when it started moving but he eventually got used to it and liked it. We saw Elmo and Cookie Monster and Cam did great with giving them high fives. We then went to see Santa...

I had VERY low expectations for his reaction with Santa. In fact, I knew he was going to cry. He walked in so proudly to Santa's Workshop and was saying "Ho Ho Ho" every time we asked what Santa says. However, when he walked in the room where Santa was, he immediately turned around and tried to run. I sat him on Santa's lap and he screamed bloody murder. In fact, Santa called me back over to get him and stand beside him because Cam was crying so bad. However, it made for the BEST picture.

After Santa, we headed to meet Rudolph and he was still scared but he at least didn't cry this time. He made sure Craw held him the entire time. We also rode the tea cups with my parents and it was so much fun but I definitely had to watch Mimi and make sure she didn't throw up on me. :)
By 7:00, we were all wore slam out. We decided to go ahead and leave and went to Chilis for dinner. Cam fell asleep in the car so I held him in my arms for most of dinner. It's been a while since he let me do that but I sure did love it.
