Christmas Town 2018

Growing up, my family always visited Williamsburg, VA. It was a quick getaway for us and I have so many fond memories there from visiting Colonial to going to Busch Gardens and Water Country. Last year, we went to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens for the first time and fell in love with it. The only downside was the freezing cold temperatures so we decided to do it again this year but try for November so it wouldn't be as cold.

Taking Camden to Williamsburg was a dream come true. We had the BEST weekend and I'm pretty sure I'm still having the post vacation blues. We started checking the weather a week in advance and while the temps looked really good, they were calling for rain on Saturday. This was the day we had tickets to Christmas Town so we were praying it would hold off.

We left for Williamsburg Friday morning and Camden was a trooper in the car. He took a good little nap and the rest of the ride was spent bribing him with crackers. He loved the ferry ride and it was so fun watching his little face try to take it all in. When we got to the hotel, our suite wasn't ready yet so we adventured out for lunch. Later in the day, we took a quick walk through Colonial but Camden was not feeling his stroller. It was also really cold on Friday so we tried not to keep him out in the cold for too long. We ended the night with dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Saturday morning Camden was up bright and early.  We had breakfast at the hotel and took our time getting ready. We then headed to Busch Gardens right as it started raining. To begin with, I was so upset that the rain was going to ruin our day. I quickly realized that it would only ruin it if I let it so I got my attitude right and we made the best of it. Our stroller had a rain cover so Camden stayed warm and dry and it actually wasn't bad at all. The park was pretty empty so we were able to enjoy everything we did. He was able to see Santa, Elmo, tons of shows, and Craw and I even rode a roller coaster in the rain.

The rain finally cleared out around 5:30 pm so after taking a small nap at the hotel, we headed back to the park. It was so fun seeing all of the lights at night and Camden did AMAZING. He loved seeing Elmo and laughs anytime he sees characters. It was one of the best days I've had in a long time and I was definitely sad to see it end but very happy to finally lay down at the end of the day.

Sunday morning, we had a nice breakfast at a Pancake house and then we headed back home. I feel like 2 nights away wasn't long enough because we barely got to see any of Colonial but the good thing is I know we will be back soon. I'm so thankful for my parents taking my sister and I so many years growing up and then tagging along with us for Camden's first trip there. I truly do love my little family and it was the perfect trip to enter in to the Christmas season.
